Fact: According to NAMI, over two-thirds of Americans with a mental illness lead productive lives and live in the community.

There are times when those with a mental illness are hospitalized, but those are only for prief time periods. Most hospitalizations occur in order to get treatment and they will return home after receiving it.

A small portion of the mental health population are or become homeless. Those who become homelss could benefit from treatment, services, and support just as the rest of those with mental illness.
